Sartus Capital is a global investment office managing assets for private individuals, families, foundations and other institutions. Our experienced team of executives works in partnership with our clients to plan and deliver personalized financial goals. We are part of XP Investimentos Group, a global investment platform headquartered in Sao Paulo, with registered offices in New York and Miami. XP Group is partially owned by General Atlantic, one of the world’s largest private equity firms, and Sartus Capital's management team are also equity holders in XP Group. Sven began his career in Canada’s diplomatic service, with postings in Sao Paulo and Geneva (WTO), and a two-year appointment as Senior Policy Advisor to Canada’s Minister for International Trade. In 2001, he joined Banque Lombard Odier & Cie in Geneva as a banker focused on high net worth clients and family offices in Latin America, the Middle East and Switzerland. Active in portfolio management, he built up a book of over USD 2 billion and sat on different strategic committees within the Bank’s private client unit. He is a Certified International Investment Analyst and holds an Honours BA in International Relations from the University of Toronto, and a graduate diploma in European studies from IEHEI in Nice, France. Sven speaks English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish. He joined Sartus in March 2017 and is also a partner at XP Investimentos.
Lydia has over 35 years of experience in the financial markets. Lydia started her career at Citibank New York in the early 1980's, moving to Citibank Paris in 1988. She pursued her career with Merrill Lynch in Paris and later in Geneva. She also held senior positions at HSBC. Prior to joining Sartus in February 2017, Lydia was the head of the Latin American team at BNP Paribas. Lydia has lived in Geneva for the past 18 years. She studied in Brazil and Paris, where she graduated from the University Paris-Sorbonne. She is fluent in Portuguese, French, English and Spanish.
Otacilio has over 30 years of experience in financial markets, starting his career in a brokerage house in Brazil in the 1980’s. This was followed by Banco CCF, where he developed their Corporate and Investment Banking, and was a Private Banking Director. After the bank’s acquisition by HSBC in 2000, he focused his career in Private Banking, both onshore and offshore, moving to HSBC Private Banking’s headquarters in Geneva. He moved to the Family Office business in 2013. In 2017, he joined Sartus Capital and became a partner at XP Investimentos. Otacilio graduated in Economics at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais and an MBA in Finance from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, Brasil. He is a former member of many professional financial markets associations in Brazil and a current member of representative ones in Europe. He speaks Portuguese, English and French.
Andrea graduated in Economics at PUC Sao Paulo and completed an MBA in Finance at IBMEC Sao Paulo. She has over 23 years of experience in Financial Markets, 10 years in Investment Banking and 13 years in Private Banking. Andrea has been living in Geneva for 11 years, where she has worked as Senior Banker at UBS, Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan covering high and ultra-high net worth private clients. Andrea joined Sartus Capital in 2017 as Managing Director.
Stéphane has over 20 years’ experience in the financial markets. He studied administration in HES Genève and literature in Toronto. He started his career as a trainee with Banque Hentsch & Cie in 1993 and then spent two years as a trader with Barclay’s Bank Geneva. He subsequently joined Unibanco as a relationship manager in their private banking office in Geneva and then was recruited by the Credit Suisse group as a senior relationship manager specialized in the Brazilian market. He moved to Banque Lombard Odier & Cie in 2006, focused on high-net worth private clients in Brazil, Portugal and Switzerland. Stéphane joined Sartus Capital in March 2017 as a Managing Director.
Fernando has over 30 years’ experience in private banking, working with individuals and families to structure and manage their wealth according to their investment goals. After graduating in Business Administration from Universidade Católica de Pernambuco, he started his professional career in the 1980’s at Citibank Brazil Corporate Banking. In the early 1990’s, he was appointed Regional Director Northeast Brazil at Lloyds TSB Private Banking, and then joined the bank’s office in Geneva in 2002. Prior to joining Sartus in November 2017, Fernando held senior positions in Geneva at Credit Suisse, UBS and Edmond Rothschild, focused on high and ultra-high net-worth individuals in Brazil and Portugal.
Marcelo has over 25 years’ experience in financial markets. He started his career at Banco Safra and then managed a hedge fund in partnership with Hedging-Griffo prior to joining Republic National Bank in 1998. When the bank was acquired by HSBC, he became the COO and deputy CEO for HSBC Private Bank in Brazil. In 2005, he moved to UBS as the Head of Markets and deputy CEO of the bank in Brazil. Since 2007 he lives in Switzerland, where he worked for UBS as Sales Manager for ultra-high net worth clients in Zurich and as Head of Brazil in Geneva. He then spent 7 years at Edmond de Rothschild as the Head of Latin America. Marcelo has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Escola de Engenharia Mauá and studied Economics at Universidade de São Paulo, FEA-USP. Marcelo is fluent in Portuguese, English and French. He joined Sartus Capital at the beginning of 2018.
Uilma has over 20 years of experience in the financial markets. After graduating with a degree in finance and accounting in Brazil, she moved to Switzerland. She started her career at American Express in Geneva, before joining Merrill Lynch Private Bank (Suisse) SA. She later joined HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) SA and subsequently worked as a senior relationship manager at BNP Paribas, her last assignment before joining Sartus Capital in February 2017. Uilma has lived in Geneva for 22 years. She is fluent in Portuguese, English and French.
Based in Sao Paulo, Renato has more than 25 years of experience in financial markets, including leadership positions in wealth planning with key financial institutions in Brazil, including UBS, Itau and Unibanco. He was responsible for developing global wealth planning as a vital services for high net worth clients. He received a BSc in Public Administration from EAESP-FGV and holds an MBA in Finance from IBMEC. He has been a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) since 2004 and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) since 2011. Furthermore, he is a founding member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Brazil Branch.
Steve holds a PhD in Economics from the Australian National University and has 30 years of international experience. He began his career as an economist working principally in Asia, but then moved to wealth and fund management after relocating to Geneva in 1997. Steve has strong analytical, investment and management skills gained in a variety of roles, including Head of Research for Santander Group (Geneva), President and CIO of Sparx International Hong Kong, and Head of Equities (Japan) for Fidelity International in Tokyo. In 2013, Steve joined Octogone Gestion SA as Investment Director with responsibility for fund research, asset allocation and portfolio advisory. Steve joined Sartus Capital SA as the CIO in February 2017 and is also a partner at XP Investimentos.
Rodolphe joined Sartus Capital in 2016 from a Geneva-based single-family office where he was a Portfolio Manager since 2012. Prior to that, Rodolphe worked as a cross-assets Investment Advisor with SG Private Banking and SG M&R since 2008. Rodolphe started his career in 2003 in the Equity Sales-Trading Division of ABN Amro, and then Bear Stearns in London, advising Hedge Funds on their equity long/short and event driven strategies. Rodolphe holds a Master’s degree in Finance from ESCP-EAP in Paris. Rodolphe speaks English, French and Spanish and he has been based in our Geneva office since 2016.
Vaz Pacheco de Castro
Antonio completed in 2014 his double Master’s degree in Economics and International Management between Bocconi University and Nova SBE, carrying out a major in Macroeconomics of Financial Markets. During his studies, he worked as Consulting Associate at Eurogroup Consulting and completed a strategic business project for executive committee members of EDP, the largest Portuguese energy company. Antonio joined J.P. Morgan in 2014, he was enrolled in the analyst program and was covering Brazilian ultra-high net worth private clients. Antonio is fluent in Portuguese, English and German and joined Sartus in 2017.
Carla holds a Masters in Financial Engineering and Risk Management from HEC Lausanne and a B.A. in Math with a minor in Economics from Graceland University. Carla started her career at J.P. Morgan as a Global Investment Analyst covering ultra-high net worth private clients in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru and Ecuador, before joining Sartus Capital in 2017. Carla is fluent in Spanish, English and French.

de Almeida e Silva
Felipe has a background as a lawyer, having worked at Bulhoes de Pedreira advogados in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, until 1995. He then founded a corporate insurance broker, Rio Service Corretora, which he sold to the Willis Group and stayed on as the director of their operations in Rio de Janeiro until 2005. Felipe then joined Lloyds Bank as a Senior Relationship Manager, leveraging his legal background for succession and trust planning for the Brazilian market. In 2007, he became a Partner and Senior Relationship Manager of Bedrock SA, where he was responsible for Latin America. Working with XP Group, Felipe founded Sartus Capital in 2016 and continues to collaborate with the firm on strategic businesses ventures and high-net worth family clients as an independent external advisor.
After finishing his professional trainee program at Volksbank eG, Thomas worked in the wealth management unit for German high net worth clients. In 1996, he was hired by Dresdner Bank Lateinamerika AG to advise the wealthiest clients in Private Banking. After the business integration of the Private Banking division into UBS Deutschland AG in 2005, Thomas worked as senior relationship manager for ultra-high-net worth clients covering the Brazilian private banking market. In 2015, Thomas was appointed to lead the Brazil Desk of UBS Hamburg. Thomas speaks German, English, Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish.
After finishing his professional trainee program at HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt in Düsseldorf, Andre moved to Hamburg in 2001 to study Business Administration at University of Hamburg. He graduated with a Master of Business Administration and Economics focusing on Capital Markets. In 2007, he was hired by UBS Deutschland AG to advise the wealthiest Brazilian clients in Private Banking. Andre is fluent in German, Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Stefan has over 25 years of experience in the financial markets. He graduated from the University of Munster, Germany, where he specialized in finance and banking. He then started as a trainee at Commerzbank and worked there for six years with German high net worth clients. In 1999, he joined Dresdner Bank Latin America as Relationship Manager for Brazilian clients. When Dresdner Bank was sold in 2005, Stefan was hired by RBC in Sao Paulo as a Client Advisor. In 2011, he joined a team of former colleagues at UBS in Germany, continuing taking care of the Brazilian market. Stefan speaks fluent German, English and Portuguese.
After earning a Master in Business Administration from the University of Hamburg, Bernd started his career at Dresdner Bank Lateinamerika AG, Hamburg in 1989. He worked for the Dresdner Bank Group mainly in Hamburg, ultimately as head of the Private Banking division, but also in Mexico City and Frankfurt with some shorter periods in Panama, Miami and the Cayman Islands. In 2005, the Private Banking activities of Dresdner Bank Lateinamerika AG were sold to UBS, where he worked until December 2015. Bernd is fluent in German, English and Spanish.
Felix is an experienced relationship manager for Brazilian high and ultra-high-net worth clients. After his graduation in Latin American Studies and Economics at the University of Cologne, Felix first joined UBS Deutschland AG as a Graduate Trainee in 2007. He continued his career as a client advisor for private clients in the Latin American department of UBS Germany, specialized in the Brazilian market, where he studied and lived for several years. Felix is fluent in German, English and Portuguese.
After graduating from university in the Netherlands, Hannes joined the international graduate trainee program at UBS Deutschland AG in 2012 where he was responsible for Mexican high and ultra-high net worth clients. In 2013, he was appointed to the Latin America-based Financial Intermediaries unit at UBS Deutschland AG covering Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica and Mexico. In 2014, he was hired by UBS Deutschland AG to advise the wealthiest Brazilian clients in Private Banking. Hannes is fluent in German, English, Portuguese and Spanish.
